| Introduction |
| The curriculum of the B. Tech (EE) program aims at imparting knowledge and creating skills required for a successful career in the field of electrical engineering and technology. It is designed to be at par with the curriculum at reputed institutes at the national level. The course structure for this program is divided into eight semesters with 5-6 theory courses and 3-4 practical courses in each semester.
After completion of degree, the students are eligible for applying to various positions for Electrical engineers in the J&K government, in Public Sector Organizations like BHEL, NTPC, NHPC etc., or in the private sector. Students are also encouraged to seek admission in postgraduate courses in reputed institutes/universities by appearing in various competitive exams like GATE, GRE etc.

| Eligibility |
| Candidates seeking admission for this programme should have passed Higher Secondary Part II (10+2) from any institution recognized by J&K State board Of school education or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects at 10+2 level and also appeared in JEE Main (Paper -I) . |

| After completion of the degree, the students are eligible for engineering positions in PDD, Electrical department, private sector, hydro-electric power generation projects within the valley and outside the state. The pass-out students are also eligible for many competitive examinations including GATE and research opportunities. |
